Average Sugar presumed
Estimated average glucose (eAG) refers to your average blood sugar (glucose) levels for the past 60 to 90 days.
There isn't one eAG aim that works for everyone. Your doctor will work with you to choose a target that is suitable for your situation and age.
– Normal range: less than 114 mg/dL
– Prediabetes range: greater than 114 mg/dL and less than 140 mg/dL
– Diabetes range: greater than 140 mg/dL
The ADA's 2021 diabetes care recommendations state that individuals with well-controlled diabetes should have an A1C blood test to determine their eAG performed at least twice a year.
Another essential tool in the management of diabetes is daily glucose monitoring. However, regular tracking can't provide you a long-term picture of your blood sugar levels.
